In Thailand, one can not assume that the quality of the water provided by the local authorities has drinking water quality. Due to high temperatures, the water is contaminated by bacteria. The way of care and maintenance of the pipelines often also leads to severe contamination. This results in the same requirements for all water treatment systems:

Destroy bacteria and filter pollutants.

The quality of the water to be treated may be different for every application. The water quality of a pond is different to a house, however, no more harmful bacteria and algae and other contaminants may be present. The highest demands are made in the commercial sector, in the production and processing of foodstuffs.
